Electro-Matic Products, Inc. proudly announces the availability of the new Manufacturing Performance Monitor (MPM) System, a product designed to allow instant access to production data for plant and management personnel. The system provides plant floor data collection, data analysis tools, automatic escalation and notification tools, plant floor operator input and feedback, and measurement tools for Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
The integration of a line operator interface unit enables the production supervisor to stay in touch with the production everywhere and anytime. If a production downtime occurs, the line operator no longer has to leave production to call for help, maintenance or material. He just has to push a button on the line operator interface to initiate a call for help, parts or maintenance. This can be sent to the production leader, the material supply team or maintenance support via text messaging or email. The system also offers auto escalation to management in order to spur quicker responses. Moreover, by seamlessly tying one of Electro-Matic Factory Vision Displays into the system, all faults, operator calls or shift production reports can be communicated to everybody within the facility. In this way all workers’ senses of sight and sound are utilized to improve productivity.
“Electro-Matic’s Manufacturing Performance Monitor System handles problems when they occur, better enables employees to effect changes and analyzes the whole production process”, explains Tom Parrish, product manager of Electro-Matic’s visual products group. “The data management tool of MPM shows when, why, how often and how long downtimes occurred and therefore helps to better analyze, understand and improve the production process. The MPM system also provides a view into the plant status of all operations at the click of one button.” The system does not require any infrastructure or complex systems to operate due to plug and play functionality anywhere within the plant with Ethernet connection, little or no integration into the current plant floor operations is needed. Therefore, the MPM system offers a cost-efficient alternative to any other lean turnkey system.
